Thanks to the assistance of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation it was possible to help a disabled woman in a difficult life situation.

Citizen of the Kostroma Region v. addressed the High Commissioner on behalf of her daughter N. According to the applicant, N.’s state of health dramatically deteriorated during her pregnancy, and after the birth of her son, the woman was paralysed all the way down her left side. She had an operation on her brain and the second degree of disability was recognized.

However, her parents paid for the rehabilitation of the woman. The quota for treatment in the sanatorium was given only once during the 7-year period of her disease. v. was in despair and asked to help in transferring her daughter to a medical institution.

Having familiarized herself with the materials of the complaint, the High Commissioner sent a request to the Kostroma Region Health Department.

According to the response, N. passed a course of treatment in Herzen Sanatorium of the Moscow Region.

In July, the High Commissioner received a letter of thanks from V: «Thank you very much, thank you, thank you! If it were not for you, no one would help us! I wish you all the best!»
