Rights to a higher pension restored thanks to improved legislation

In accordance with Federal Law «On Insurance Pensions», an increased pension should be paid to people who have worked for more than 30 years in the field of agriculture. However, if a person decided to change his place of residence after retirement, for example, to move closer to relatives, then he automatically lost the allowances assigned to him. This fact alone undermined the labor achievements of a person.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin drew attention to this problem and instructed the Russian Government to develop a draft of amendments to the legislation.
As this issue directly affects human rights, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova, in cooperation with the Russian Government, took an active part in refinement of the Federal Law.
As a result of joint work, the amendments to the law were adopted by the State Duma, approved by the Federation Council and signed by the President of Russia on May 26, 2021. Now people who have worked in agriculture for more than 30 years will receive an increased insurance pension, regardless of where they currently live.
